I find it a rather strange point of view that an adult professional would agree that buying a phone was "the most important purchase you will ever make in your life". I've bought a car and that was far more important than when I bought an iPhone. It also cost 100 times more. I imagine buying a house, which often cost 1000 times as much as an iPhone, to be even more important than the car and the phone combined.
